Chargers defeat Orange Coast Pirates, 68-50
CYPRESS, CA – Cypress College men's basketball defended home court on Wednesday evening with a 68–50 win over Orange Coast Pirates at Cypress College.
The Chargers set the tone early, taking a 33–27 lead into halftime before pulling away in the second half. Cypress outscored the Pirates 35–23 after the break, using balanced scoring, efficient shooting, and active defense to secure the conference victory.
Jack Rivera led all scorers with 18 points, knocking down four three-pointers and going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Mason Johnson provided a strong spark off the bench, finishing with 11 points, four rebounds, and two blocks, while Michael Wright added nine points, five rebounds, four assists, and a block in an all-around effort.
Cypress shot 50 percent from the field (23-for-46) and recorded 15 assists on 23 made baskets. Defensively, the Chargers forced 18 Orange Coast turnovers and totaled 10 steals and four blocks as a team.
