Cypress Completes Road Swing With 86–75 Victory at Canyons
Balanced scoring and strong free-throw shooting lift the Chargers to 3–2 before their long-awaited home opener on Nov. 26.
SANTA CLARITA, CA - The Cypress Chargers (3-2) continued their season on the road, earning an 86–75 victory over College of the Canyons (3-4).
Jack Rivera and Amaan Zavahir led the offensive charge with 19 points each. Rivera knocked down four threes and added four assists, while Zavahir was automatic at the line, finishing a perfect 10-for-10. Michael Wright delivered a standout all-around performance with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.
Cypress dominated the paint and attacked the rim consistently, resulting in a 31–41 team performance at the free-throw line. Moises Hernandez added 13 points and six boards, and the Chargers' bench contributed valuable minutes that were highlighted by eight points each from Zack Moritz and Lincoln Dean.
Defensively, Cypress forced 18 Canyons turnovers and held the Cougars to just 21% from beyond the arc.
UP NEXT: After spending the entire season thus far on the road, Cypress will make their home debut on Wednesday, November 26, hosting Long Beach City College at 5:00PM.
