Cypress Falls to Mt. San Antonio in the Skip Robinson Classic, 77–66
The Chargers lose one of two games at the Skip Robinson Classic.
PASADENA, CA - A strong first-half showing wasn't enough for Cypress College (2–1, 0-0 OEC) on Saturday afternoon, as the Chargers fell 77–66 to Mt. San Antonio (4-1, 0-0 SCC) in the Skip Robinson Classic. Cypress took a 39–31 lead into halftime, shooting 63% from 3PT range.
Michael Wright led the Chargers with a game-high 23 points, adding eight rebounds while shooting 8 for 20 from the field. Freshman sharpshooter Isaiah Valenzuela delivered an impactful boost off the bench, scoring 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including three makes from beyond the arc. Jack Rivera contributed nine points, and Lincoln Dean provided six points and four assists.
Cypress came out firing on the defensive end, holding Mt. SAC without a made three. First year center Moises Hernandez recorded 4 rebounds, a block, and a steal to contribute on defense.
