Cypress College Athletics Excels in the Classroom During the 2025-26 Academic Year

Chargers Post a 3.23 Department GPA, Earn 64 Four-Year Transfers, and Continue Building a Culture of Academic Achievement

CYPRESS, CA – Success at Cypress College Athletics extended far beyond the playing field during the 2025-26 academic year, as Charger student-athletes continued to demonstrate their commitment to academic excellence with impressive classroom achievements, strong transfer outcomes, and department-wide success rates. 
 
The department finished the 2025-26 academic year with a cumulative 3.23 GPA. In addition, 11 of Cypress College's 14 athletic teams recorded a team GPA above 3.0, highlighting the department's ongoing commitment to academic achievement. 
 
Leading the way was the Softball program, which posted a department-best 3.46 GPA, followed closely by Baseball (3.39), Men's Swimming (3.37), Women's Basketball (3.36), and Men's Water Polo (3.35). 
 
The academic accomplishments of Cypress College student athletes translated directly into opportunities beyond Cypress. As of July 23, 2026, a total of 64 student-athletes transferred to four-year institutions, with 30 continuing their athletic careers at the next level. 
 
The continued success reflects the department's dedication to supporting student-athletes both academically and athletically. Through academic counseling, tutoring resources, faculty partnerships, and a culture that emphasizes achievement in the classroom, Cypress College Athletics remains focused on preparing student athletes for success after graduation.
