Cypress College Student-Athletes Shine Academically in Fall 2025
Cypress College student-athletes posted an impressive 3.30 overall GPA during Fall 2025, with 10 of 14 teams earning GPAs of 3.0 or higher
CYPRESS, CA — Cypress College student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom during the Fall 2025 semester, posting strong academic results that reflect the program's commitment to success beyond competition.
Cypress College Athletics recorded an overall 3.30 GPA among student-athletes for the Fall 2025 term, with 10 of 14 sports achieving team GPAs of 3.0 or higher. These results highlight the department's continued emphasis on academic achievement alongside athletic performance.
A total of 43 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, while 105 student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.5 or higher, demonstrating a culture of excellence across Charger Athletics. Additionally, the department saw increased success rates in both math and English, key indicators of academic progress and degree completion.
Leading the way academically was Cypress College Softball, which posted the highest team GPA among all sports at 3.63.
Athletic Director and Associate Dean, Wes McCurtis, emphasized the significance of these achievements and the collective effort behind them.
"The academic success of our student-athletes this fall reflects their commitment to excellence beyond competition. At Cypress College, we believe athletics is an extension of the educational experience, and these results demonstrate how our student-athletes continue to prioritize their goals in the classroom. I'm grateful for the collaborative efforts of our coaches, faculty, counselors, and support staff who make this level of achievement possible."
