Cypress Women's Water Polo Concludes Their Season
The Chargers finish their season after an OEC Championship berth.
CYPRESS, CA - The women's water polo team finishes their 2025 season after a loss in the OEC Championships. Overall, they recorded 10 wins and 14 losses. Within the OEC, they had 0 wins and 7 losses. During the Battle of the Beach Tournament in October, the Chargers went undefeated, winning 4 games.
The Chargers played in the both the OEC Tournament and the OEC Championships. In the tournament, they lost to the Saddleback Bobcats (15-17, 4-4 OEC). In the championships, they fell to the Fullerton Hornets (18-15, 3-4 OEC).
Sophomore Jillian Van Gemert led the team in goals scored (78) and steals (41). Kaylyn Barnett led the team in assists (36), while Makaela Prieto was not far behind with 36.
Goalie Nince Abundis had 125 saves on the season with a save percentage of 31%. She also had 10 wins.
