Cypress Defeats Orange Coast in Final Home Game
The Chargers win their second to last regular season game with a clean sheet.

CYPRESS, CA. – The Cypress College women's soccer team (13-5-2, 7-4-2 OEC) achieved a 2-0 victory over Orange Coast (13-5-3, 7-3-3 OEC) on Wednesday afternoon at Ray Haas Field.
After a tight opening half, sophomore forward Layla Valle broke the scoreless deadlock in the 43rd minute, burying an unassisted goal to give Cypress the 1-0 edge heading into the break.
The Chargers maintained their attacking pressure in the second half, outshooting the Pirates 8–3. Their persistence paid off when Briselda Tellez doubled the lead in the 63rd minute, slotting home a strong pass across the box from Naomi Lee to seal the victory.
Cypress goalkeeper Emily Peñaloza anchored the defense with two saves to secure the clean sheet, while the Chargers' back line held Orange Coast to just three total shots all game.
The Chargers posted 14 shots (nine on goal) and three corner kicks while limiting the Pirates to one corner and two fouls.
