Women's Soccer Shuts Out Orange Coast, 2-0
The women’s soccer team knocked off the conference leader on Friday afternoon, defeating Orange Coast 2-0 in an Orange Empire contest.

The women's soccer team knocked off the conference leader on Friday afternoon, defeating Orange Coast 2-0 in an Orange Empire contest. Shutting out an opponent for the fourth straight match, the women improved to 6-0-2 on the season (3-0-1 OEC), while OCC is now 5-2-1 and 3-1 in conference play.
After 75 minutes of scoreless play, Cypress' Marina Thomas found the back of the next after a great pass by Jenny Marin. The Chargers then scored again in the 86th minute after a goal by Karla Lopez (with the assist from Laura Najera).
The women continue their home stand next Tuesday (Sept. 30), hosting Saddleback at 3:00 pm in the second match of a doubleheader. The men's team will play first at 1:00 pm against Irvine Valley in its conference opener.
