Cypress Men's Water Polo Wraps Up 2025 Season
The Chargers finishes their season with a postseason push.
CYPRESS, CA - The men's water polo team wraps up their season with an above .500 overall record. They concluded with an overall record of 18 wins and 12 losses. Within the OEC, the Chargers had 3 wins and 4 losses. During the season, the Charger's longest winning streak was 6 games long, only losing 1 game during the second half of October. They defended their home turf well, only losing 2 games.
The Chargers advanced to the 3C2A SoCal Regionals, falling just short to the Orange Coast Pirates (25-10, 5-2 OEC) by a score of 15-10.
Second year Wes Brazda led the team in goal with 83. Freshman Mathew Arauz ended the season as the second highest goal scorer with 63. Arauz led the team in assists with 51. Victor Abella and Brazda tied for the most steals with 32. Abella also tallied 47 assists, the second most on the team.
Goalie Zackary Populus recorded 124 saves and 10 wins. He had a save percentage of 38%.
