Cypress Chargers Men’s Water Polo Prepared to Build on Their Foundation
Chargers Return Key Leaders as They Aim for OEC and SoCal Regional Success
CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress Chargers Men's Water Polo team is ready to dive into the new season with momentum and confidence. Last year, the Chargers defended their home waters by winning three games at the Cypress Tournament and finishing with an overall record of 14-13.
Offensive standout Wes Brazda made an immediate impact as a freshman, ranking second on the team in goals (72), third in assists (31), and second in steals (29). Now returning as a sophomore, Brazda is expected to be a driving force on both ends of the pool. Anchoring the defense, goalie Zach Populous recorded 142 saves in just 23 games, providing a strong presence in the net.
With a roster built largely around freshmen, the Chargers are confident in their leadership core and their ability to compete at a high level.
UP NEXT: The Chargers home opener will be the Cypress Mini Tournament. Opponent and game time details are forthcoming, but fans can expect an exciting matchup to kick off the season.
