Sylvia Garcia Named Charger of the Week (Nov. 7-13)
Sophomore Guard Sylvia Garcia has earned Charger of the Week (Nov. 7-13) after leading the Chargers to a second place finish in the Merced College Tournament over the weekend.
CYPRESS, CA – Sophomore Guard Sylvia Garcia has earned Charger of the Week (Nov. 7-13) after leading the Chargers to a second place finish in the Merced College Tournament over the weekend.
Garcia was named to the All-Tournament Team and she led the Chargers with 13 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game as they won two out of three games and captured second place in the tournament.
Garcia contributed 9 points in the Chargers 73-53 win over Foothill and led the Chargers with 13 points in an 80-48 win over Merced. She also scored 17 points and was second with 8 rebounds in the Chargers 66-65 loss to Diablo Valley College in the championship game.
The Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary alumna is the first member of the women's basketball team to receive Charger of the Week this year.
