Sydney McCollum Earns Charger of the Week (Mar. 6-12)

Freshman Sydney McCollum has earned Charger of the Week (Mar. 6-12) after leading the softball team to a win over Fullerton College and 2 wins over Grossmont College while going 7-for-11 with 7 RBI.

McCollum went 3-for-3 and drove in 4 runs in the Chargers 10-0 victory over district rival Fullerton College. In the first game against Grossmont McCollum continued to hit well as she went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI as the Chargers won 8-1. Trailing 1-0 in game 2, McCollum hit an RBI triple and then scored on an error to give the Chargers a 2-1 lead. McCollum went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI as Cypress went on to win 3-2 in extra innings.

The Marina High School alumna is the second member of the softball to receive Charger of the Week this season.
