Mario Tostado Earns Charger of the Week (Feb. 3- Feb. 9)
Freshman baseball standout, Mario Tostado, earned his first career Charger of the Week Award during Wednesday's practice. Tostado is the first member of the baseball team to earn the award this season.
Freshman baseball standout, Mario Tostado, earned his first career Charger of the Week Award during Wednesday's practice. Tostado is the first member of the baseball team to earn the award this season.
The Freshman catcher had a monster game against L.A. Pierce on February 8th. Tostado got the start behind the plate and batted 4 for 5 with 1 double and 2 home runs. The Warren HS alum knocked in 7 runs, including a grandslam as Cypress went on to win, 22-6.
Tostado is batting .421 with an on base percentage of .429, and leads the OEC in homeruns with 3. He splits time behind the plate, but his hot bat is making it tough to keep him out of the lineup.
